    Semen Detection and its DNA Profiling from the Menstruating Rape Survivor

    It has been generally observed that a survivor is raped when she is not menstruating. In some of the cases, the survivor is raped during the period of menstruation. The alkaline nature of semen, having pH 7.2–8.0 is help to neutralize acidic nature of the vagina.
